I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (#MC61541006) and Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (#MG61424359) in Washington State. I am currently practicing towards my full licensure under the supervision of Nicole Ruston, MS, LMHC. I received my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University in June 2023 with a concentration in child therapy and LGBTQIA+ affirmative care. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from National Tsing-Hua University in June 2019.
As a marriage and family therapist associate, I work with individuals, couples, and families. My therapeutic approach is client-centered and strength-based. I utilize an anti-oppressive, culturally sensitive lens to support clients to challenge their views and interaction with the world and empower themselves. I integrate a variety of techniques and therapeutic modalities including narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, internal family system, expressive art and play therapy, structural family therapy, EMDR therapy, and contextual family therapy. I work collaboratively with clients to discover existing skills and find own agency to challenge the obstacles they are facing, such as immigration experiences, intimate relationships, parent-child relationship, social anxiety, anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, procrastination, stress management, confidence, and life transitions, gender dysphoria, and identity exploration.
With the strong belief that everyone is different and the respect that clients know the best about themselves, I provide personalized care collaboratively with clients to build a safe therapeutic alliance that we can work together to naturally be yourself, unpack current and past struggles, practice coping skills within yourself and within your relationships, explore the person you would like to be, and find out and commit to the direction you want to take. I see the therapeutic process as a trip, as a journey of self-exploration and self-acceptance. We encounter interesting, fun things and we also encounter challenges. But we always immerse in it and learn new things about ourselves and our surroundings. Together, we share, experience, and plan our trip until you feel it is the right spot you want to settle.
